What is more quintessentially Canadian than a red lumberjacket pattern? Well, besides maple syrup, hockey, Franglais … yeah. Anway. When I was a kid (okay, teenager) I really, stupidly wanted a red lumberjacket but was discouraged as it was kinda trashey. I still want one, but until I find one that fits nicely my $5 Old Navy blanket will have to suffice ;)

Im not at all happy with how my Festival of Lights photos turned out. I read up a little on what settings to use on the camera, but I still wasnt able to capture what I saw adequately. None of the photos show the glow of the lanterns cleanly, or brightly enough. Help?

I thought about switching to me 18-55mm lens, but it was so crowded and so cold that my fingers were numb, and I was worried that I would be jostled and that I would drop something.

This is Olive, my precocious almost-three year old Calico, in a rare moment of serenity. The most affectionate cat ever to grace my living room couch, she was kind enough to pose for me in front of the bedroom window.
