I’ve finally reached the point where I am close enough to exciting travels that I feel like I can touch them. It’s been a long haul, these last six months, and I’m super excited that in about six weeks I will FINALLY be playing tourist in the country that has been my home for the last year. It’s taken a few weeks to sort everything out to a place where Im confident sharing my plans, but I think I’ve everything in order. Now all I need is money to pay …

Last weekend was my long awaited trip up to Auckland. It’s been over six months since I left to move to Wellington, and it was so nice to be back. I was really frustrated with my situation when I lived there, so going back now that things are so good in my life was such a treat. The weekend was spent catching up with my friends and having great meals (and lots of wine). I also sorted out my Australian visitor’s visa so now I’m good to return to Melbourne …

It’s been a super busy time for me lately. I moved house over the last few days, and am now living with my friend Naiana, a girl I met up in Nelson in April. A group of CouchSurfers from Christchurch were up for the Easter long weekend and invited me on a day trip out to Cable Bay. Absolutely gorgeous spot, has a massive hill that completely kicked out asses. The view was worth it though!

Springtime has definitely arrived in Christchurch! Winter, bah, that wasn’t a REAL winter — something I couldn’t be happier about. One of my favourite things to do when I begin to feel like I’ve been in one spot for too long is to dream of the places I want to go as soon as I can either afford to travel, or have the time to do it. Luckily I’m in a country where there are a million and one things to do! While some things can be done during a weekend (and thus help keep my sanity in check), I’m really looking forward to having a sizable chunk of time …

I left home six months ago yesterday. Sometimes it feels like no time has passed at all, others, it feels like it’s been forever. Ive had so many experiences and seen some really great things since I’ve been gone, but in all honesty, I dont feel like Ive had any life changing moments.
One of the reasons I left Canada was because I didnt like the direction (or lack thereof) my life was taking, and now that Ive settled down in Christchurch I can see that I need to actively add …

I got the job!
I know, that should be in allcaps and blinking, but it’s been a few days since I found out and I’ve calmed down a little. Im really looking forward to spending a few months in this city, saving up some money, and just being able to relax and enjoy my time in NZ.
Before I start, on May 11, Im heading south to Aoraki Mt. Cook for a few days, and then down to Queenstown. Ive a Milford Sound cruise booked, so Im completely stoked about my trip. …
