Solid as a rock

TIL you can take a block of solid brown sugar, put it on a plate in the microwave next to a small bowl of water, and heat it for a minute or two to soften. It didn’t make the sugar granular, but it DID make it malleable enough that I could knife off enough to grin up in my mortar and pestle.
